This four-bladed, twin-engine, medium-lift utility helicopter is arguably the most popular combat aircraft in the world. It was the focal point of the hit film and book 'Black Hawk Down.' Used extensively in the United States Army, this legendary chopper has also served several armed forces all over the world, including Taiwan's. Even today the demand for Black Hawks is very high by militaries around the world.

This twin-engine, tandem rotor heavy-lift helicopter can travel at speeds of up to 315 kmh. Currently used by the United States Army, Japan and the Royal Netherlands Air Force, the unit price of this helicopter is a staggering $35 million. It also happens to be one of the longest serving choppers in modern combat history--it was first used way back in 1962!

The Mil MI-24 is a large helicopter gunship and attack helicopter that is often used as a transporter as well. Primarily used by the Russian Air Force, the MI series of helicopters is used by several other countries, including India. The Indian Air Force currently has one squadron of MI-25 (Hind D) and MI-35 (Hind E) each. These are the export versions of the MI-24.

The Hind has been in active service since 1972, and it remains one of the premier combat choppers in the world

Currently, there are 10 KA-50s serving the Russian Air Force, and there are other variants of this aircraft--about 16--also in active service
