Higgs boson, you must be familiar with this word if you are a science buff or a believer in doomsday.as you proceed you'll decipher why I'm saying this .So, higgs was named after the British scientist PETER HIGGS and an Indian scientist SATENDRA NATH "BOSE", who was a physicist specializing in mathematical physics.
for understanding HIGGS we have to deep into the elementary physics.elementary particle are the subatomic particle which are composed together to form an atom,(atom meaning "indivisible" in Greek). initially it was thought that electron was the elementary particle but as the discoveries were made, scientist came to know about nucleus, electron and proton.
In early 1970s it was found that these particles are made up of even more fundamental particle called FERMIONS which consists of quarks, leptons,anti-quark, and anti-leptons which are matter and anti-matter particle. BOSONS are responsible for keeping these fermions intact, they are the force particles which bonds the fermions in place.more than 200 particles have been detected so far and most appear to have corresponding antimatter.
in 1990 ,the whole science world came togather to search this tiny particle clandestine in our nature and this led to to the creation of world largest particle accelerator famously known as LHC ( large hadron collider).
